The Annual Convention And Vote!
Voting Delegates attending the Annual Meeting May 17-19 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells will cast their votes for the 2008-2009 Board of Directors, and the LEER, CERD and SORD Committees.
Pursuant to the Restated Bylaws of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, Inc., “Any eligible Active Member who desires to be a candidate for an open Director seat shall inform the Secretary in writing of their candidacy at least thirty (30) days prior to the date scheduled for the Annual Meeting of Delegates. The Secretary shall verify each candidate’s eligibility and add their name to the ballot.”
Nominations will not be taken from the floor at the Annual Meeting of Delegates. You must state your intention, in writing, at least 30 days prior to the Annual Meeting.
An “Active Member” is defined as any sworn law enforcement officer other than a confidential, managerial or executive employee, and any law enforcement-related, non-sworn municipal or county employee.
Letter of Intent
If you are an Active Member of the WPPA and wish to run for election to the Board of Directors, or the LEER, CERD, or SORD Committees, send your letter, no later than April 17, 2008, to: WPPA Secretary, Elections, 340 Coyier Lane, Madison, WI 53713.
In your letter, please include your department, home address, e-mail address, and telephone number. Your letter must be postmarked no later than April 17, 2008. There will be no exceptions to the deadline date.
Wisconsin Police Journal Article
An article will be published in the April 2008 issue of the Wisconsin Police Journal about those members who wish to run for election or reelection to the Board, and to the LEER, CERD, and SORD Committees. The article will include a brief bio of each person, along with their picture, if submitted. To be included in the article, please send your letter of intent no later than March 1, 2008.
