Convention 2006 — It’s
Not Too Late To Register!
Join us for the WPPA’s 74th Annual Convention May 20-22, 2006
at the Kalahari Waterpark Resort & Convention Center in Wisconsin
Dells, one of the greatest vacation destinations in the United States.
Registration information is on page 27.
Who Should Attend?
All WPPA members should attend the Annual Convention. You don’t
have to be a member of your local association’s board of directors
to attend. The WPPA is YOUR union! If you are a member of the WPPA,
plan now to attend Convention 2006, and:
- Receive training in critical incidents from an internationally
recognized speaker.
- Question this year’s candidates for governor
and attorney general.
- Attend one of five workshops offered by professionals
in their fields.
- Network with your fellow WPPA members.
- Find out what your State
Association does for you.
- Voice your opinions and become involved.
- Support your Association!
Keynote Speaker
Dr. Alexis Artwohl is an internationally recognized law enforcement
psychologist responsible for primary research on psychological
aspects of lethal force encounters. She provides training and consultations
across the USA and Canada. Dr. Artwohl is co-author of the acclaimed
book, Deadly Force Encounters, written with retired police officer
Loren W. Christensen.
Candidate Forums
This is an election year, and on Sunday, May 21, we plan to offer
two one-hour candidate forums for the gubernatorial and attorney
general races. This is your opportunity to question the candidates
on labor and law enforcement issues. WPPA Assistant Executive Director & Director
of Governmental Affairs James Palmer will act as facilitator. (See
Capitol Commentary, page 7, for more information.)
Saturday Evening – Free Time!
In response to your requests for more free time, and to enhance
your “weekend
away” at the Kalahari Waterpark Resort, Saturday night will
be yours to spend time with your family to enjoy the largest indoor
waterpark in the United States, visit attractions in Wisconsin Dells,
or just relax and have a quite dinner with your family. The Hospitality
Suite will be open from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m.
Hotel Accommodations
To make arrangements, call the Kalahari Waterpark Resort & Convention
Center at 877-253-5466 or 608-254-5466 and request the group rate
