WPPA Board of Directors
The WPPA Board of Directors consists of 29 members – 28 shall
be active WPPA members, and one retired WPPA member. One-third (1/3)
of the Directors are elected each year by the Delegates at the Annual
Meeting of Delegates. Except as otherwise provided in the Bylaws
of the Association, each Director serves a term of three years. The
Retired Director is appointed by the President annually for a one-year
term. The Board sets the policies of the Association and provides
direction to the Executive Board and to the Executive Director.
The Board of Directors elects an Executive Board to oversee the
operations of the WPPA and is corporations.
The Executive Director is responsible for the administration of
all divisions of the WPPA. He reports directly to the Executive
Board.
The activities of the LEER division are governed by the LEER Committee.
Only Directors who are non-supervisory, sworn law enforcement employees
are eligible to serve on the LEER Committee. Members of the LEER
Committee shall be elected at the Annual Meeting of Delegates,
provided, only Delegates representing local associations of non-supervisory,
sworn law enforcement employees shall be entitled to vote for LEER
Committee members.
The activities of the SORD division are governed by the SORD Committee.
Only Active Members who are supervisory, sworn law enforcement
employees are eligible to serve on the SORD Committee. Members
of the SORD Committee shall be elected at the Annual Meeting of
Delegates, provided, only Delegates representing local associations
of supervisory, sworn law enforcement employees shall be entitled
to vote for SORD Committee members.
The activities of the CERD division are governed by the CERD Committee.
Only Active Members who are non-sworn municipal or county employees
are eligible to serve on the CERD Committee. Members of the CERD
Committee shall be elected at the Annual Meeting of Delegates,
provided, only Delegates representing local associations of non-sworn
employees shall be entitled to vote for CERD Committee members.
WPPA Staff
The WPPA staff consists of the following: Executive Director;
Director of Finance; Director of Field Services; Governmental Affairs
Personnel; Legal Services Personnel; Office Manager; Administrative
Assistant; Receptionist; and Business Agents located around the
state of Wisconsin and in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
The WPPA has toll-free numbers into all offices, including the
home offices of Business Agents. Each office has the capacity to
forward calls to the general operations office in Madison.
Calls are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Outside
regular business hours, calls are routed to an answering service,
with staff members “on call” to contact a member in
case of an emergency.
